Hope Squad at DHS: Students Supporting Students
Dayton High School’s Hope Squad is a peer-nominated, student-led program focused on suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Members are trained to recognize warning signs, offer support, and connect peers with trusted adults. Weekly meetings focus on building communication, conflict resolution, and self-care skills while also planning schoolwide activities that promote a safe, welcoming environment. From spirit weeks to social media campaigns, the Hope Squad is making a powerful impact on campus by reducing stigma and encouraging open conversations around mental health.
